Saints Row 2 2008

After the events of the first game, you awaken from a coma to find that the Third Street Saints have all but disappeared. Much like Saints Row, you are charged with retaking the city from three rival gangs, only this time as the leader of the saints. While fighting the Sons of Samedi, The Brotherhood, and The Ronin, the Saints also antagonize the Ultor Corporation, which seeks to eradicate gang violence in Stilwater once and for all. Set in the fictional open-world city of Stilwater, Saints Row 2 follows the customizable leader of the 3rd Street Saints, the sole survivor of the yacht explosion that closed the gang's earlier rise. After five years in a coma, the protagonist awakens in the infirmary of Stilwater's maximum security prison and escapes with the help of Carlos, the brother of a former Saint. The city they return to has changed. The Saints have been disbanded and scattered, and in their absence three new criminal outfits have carved up the streets: the gun-running Brotherhood, the drug-dealing Sons of Samedi, and the gambling-focused Ronin. Looming over them all is the Ultor Corporation, which has redeveloped the Saints' old territory into a gleaming commercial district while pursuing ambitions of its own. Taking up the mantle of the Boss, the protagonist sets out to rebuild the Saints from nothing, recruiting old allies and new lieutenants to reclaim Stilwater and wage war on the rivals who seized it.
