X-Men: Gamesmaster's Legacy 1995
Developed by Sega of America
- Platform, Arcade, Action, Science fiction
X-Men: Gamesmaster's Legacy is an action game released in 1995 on the Game Gear. The game starts off with Cyclops and Storm as playable X-Men, although Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Cable can be later unlocked. It is loosely based on the "Upstarts" and "X-Cutioner's Song" storylines that took place in the comics. It is the sequel to the original X-Men Game Gear game. The mutant population is being devastated by the Legacy Virus, and the pivotal solution lies within the grasp of the Gamesmaster. Extending an opportunity to the X-Men, he proposes a game where they can claim the coveted remedy. Simultaneously, he extends the same proposition to their longstanding adversaries, with an extra incentive of obliterating the X-Men. Faced with this ultimatum, the X-Men are compelled to divide their forces in a quest to locate the cure before facing irrevocable demise.
