Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a first- and third-person action game that combines shooter gameplay with lightsaber melee combat and Force powers. Set in the Star Wars universe, it lets players customize their character's species, gender, and appearance, as well as their lightsaber and fighting style, choosing between single, dual, or double-bladed configurations. As missions are completed, players upgrade Force abilities along either a light or dark path, which shapes later events. Alongside its single-player campaign, the game offers online and local multiplayer with several competitive modes. Set years after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy follows Jaden Korr, a new student who builds a lightsaber and travels to Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy to train in the ways of the Force. Jaden studies under veteran Jedi Kyle Katarn alongside a fellow student, Rosh Penin, but their arrival coincides with an attack in which a mysterious figure drains energy from the site using a strange staff. As Jaden takes on peacekeeping missions across the galaxy, the threat is traced to a Dark Jedi cult seeking to harness Force energy for its own ends. Throughout the journey, Jaden must develop their abilities and choose whether to follow the light side or give in to the dark side.
