Layer by layer uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the protagonist and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create. Set in the years after World War I, the story follows a troubled painter who returns to his eerie Victorian mansion determined to complete his magnum opus. As he wanders the ever-shifting halls in search of the materials he needs, the house warps and rearranges around him, defying spatial logic and dredging up fragments of his past. Piece by piece, letters, objects, and haunting flashbacks reveal the tragedy that befell his wife and family and the toll it has taken on his fracturing mind.
